Ohio Association of Area Agencies on Aging Appoints Beth Kowalczyk as New Chief Executive Officer

Columbus, Ohio (December 20, 2023) — The Ohio Association of Area Agencies on Aging (o4a) is delighted to announce the appointment of Beth Kowalczyk as its new Chief Executive Officer, effective January 1, 2024. Beth brings to this role a wealth of knowledge and experience, having dedicated 11 years of exemplary service to o4a in various capacities, including Chief Policy Officer and Chief Operating Officer.

Prior to her tenure at o4a, Beth served with distinction at the Ohio Department of Job and Family Services as the Bureau Chief, Policy Initiatives, Office of Family Assistance. Her commitment to public service and advocacy was also evident during her tenure at the Ohio State Legal Services Association in Columbus, OH, where she served as Senior Statewide Attorney.

A proud alumna of Kent State University and New York University Law School, Beth’s educational background complements her extensive professional experience, positioning her as a dynamic leader poised to make a lasting impact on the aging and disability network.

Jim Endly, President of the o4a Board of Directors, expressed his enthusiasm for Beth’s appointment, stating, “We are so pleased that Beth’s commitment to the aging and disability network continues, and that she will be leading the association into the future.” Mr. Endly further emphasized his confidence in Beth’s ability to contribute to the ongoing success and growth of o4a.

In response to her appointment, Beth Kowalczyk shared her excitement, stating, “I look forward to my new role at o4a, working with an outstanding team and board of directors that share my passion for making a meaningful impact in the lives of older Ohioans and people with disabilities.”

Beth will succeed current CEO, Larke Recchie, who previously announced her intent to retire at the end of December.   Larke will continue as a strategic advisor to the o4a.
