The next Advocacy Conference will be held in Spring, 2025 Questions? Contact o4a at o4a@ohioaging.org
Every other year we sponsor an Advocacy Conference at which Area Agencies on Aging and aging network partners can learn about important policy and legislative initiatives. Held during the state budget process, the Conference educates participants about o4a’s budget priorities, as well as those of state agencies and advocacy partners. Visit our Advocacy page for information about o4a’s advocacy efforts.
The event includes a Legislative Reception where participants can meet their state legislators and share information about issues of importance to the aging network.
This year, you will hear from Director McElroy from the Department of Aging, Director Corcoran from the Department of Medicaid, and Director Criss from the Department of Mental Health and Addiction Services. Do not miss this opportunity to hear the policy and budget priorities from these essential human service departments. This will be your chance to hear firsthand and ask questions about the many new initiatives and programs anticipated in the Governor’s budget.
O4a welcomes back Bob Blancato to the 2023 Advocacy Conference! Bob is the National Coordinator of the Elder Justice Coalition and the Executive Director of NANASP (National Association of Nutrition and Aging Services). Bob has held audiences’ rapt attention throughout his long and illustrious career in aging services as he provides context and detail to the work of changing Congressional and Administration priorities. You will not want to miss his intel on this year’s fascinating policy landscape.
We have many more speakers for you over the two-day conference. These are just some of the highlights!
